20surgery. After four summers of volunteering at a pediatric oncology camp, the
opportunity to work with both children and cancer patients was what initially drew me to
medicine. With otolaryngology, I would be able to do that without it comprising my
entire practice. Ultimately, an otolaryngologist deals with things that matter to people:
hearing, speech, breathing, their outward appearance. As a musician I have had the
opportunity to touch people’s lives. As an otolaryngologist, I set out to do the same and
look forward to the challenges ahead.
