Thank you so very much for generously contributing to the Turning Point Suffragist Memorial. Your gift

of $1000 will go to fund a beautiful garden style memorial to honor all suffragists, with special focus on

those women who were imprisoned for picketing the US White House in 1917, seeking presidential

support of a US Constitutional amendment on women’s suffrage. For this they were imprisoned as

common criminals and served terms of 30 days or 60 days or longer. Their brutal treatment in prison

and the resulting public outrage was a major “turning point” in the 72 year campaign that was finally

won in 1920. The memorial will be installed near the former site of the Occoquan Workhouse in

Virginia, where the suffragists were imprisoned . We hope for completion of the memorial in 2017. See

The Turning Point Suffragist Memorial Association is a nonprofit organization exempt under Section 501

law. Our Federal ID is # 45-2401138. No goods or services were provided in exchange for this

contribution.

Again, thank you for your donation, You are now a participant in honoring the work of the suffragists

the memorial as indicated on the form.
