Camping gear worth considering:
Thermarest mattresses
LED Lights/Hands Free Units ~ A handy item for setting up a tent in the dark
Pocketknives ~ Knives that not only folding, but also lock. For safety reasons, the blade
should be no longer than the width of the Scout's palm and have a lock to prevent
injuries.
Sharpening stone and honing oil ~ A sharp knife is always safer than a dull one.
Some Advice:
A Note about equipment usage:
If you want to borrow something that belongs to another Scout, follow these three simple rules:
1.
Ask before using and respect their right to say no.
2.
Treat the borrowed item with the UTMOST respect.
3.
Ask if you don't understand how to use it correctly, ask for direction.
Remember to show respect for one another.
Note: Klondike Derby
The following items are required for each sled entering into the race. Each sled team has 5 to 8
Scouts.

Food (Lunch)
Shelter or Tents or Tarp used for shelter
Scout Handbook
Scout Field book
Compass
Patrol First Aid Kit
Ace Bandages (Old Neckerchiefs do count)
Two Poles 6-8 feet long
Rope - 6 feet long, one per Scout
Pen and Paper
Two Blankets
Patrol Roster
Fire Starting Kit
