TRITON SWIMMING CODE-OF-CONDUCT

I, as a member of Triton Swimming, understand and will comply with the following guidelines as set forth by the

Team.

The possession or use of alcohol, tobacco products, or controlled substances by any athlete of TRITON

SWIMMING is prohibited.

If alcohol or tobacco is found to have been used: First offense = one week suspension. Second offence =

suspension for the year.

If drugs are found to have been used, immediate and permanent suspension from the team.

Curfews established by the staff will be adhered to each day of any meet where the coaching staff is responsible

for the athletes.

Team members and staff will attend all team functions including meetings, meals, practices, exhibitions,

competitions, etc., unless otherwise excused or instructed by the TRITON SWIMMING Coaching Staff.

To insure the propriety of the athletes and to protect the staff, there will be no male athletes in female athletes’

rooms and no female athletes in male athletes’ rooms, unless Coaches approve for a specific reason.

Team members and staff will comply with TRITON SWIMMING uniform requirements.

Team members will refrain from any illegal or inappropriate behavior that would detract from a positive image

of TRITON SWIMMING or be detrimental to its performance objectives.

Team members will display proper respect and sportsmanship toward each other, coaches, officials,

administrators, fellow competitors, and the public.

Any additional guidelines for TRITON SWIMMING will be established as needed by the TRITON

SWIMMING Coaching Staff.

Both parents and swimmers of all TRITON SWIMMING families will be required to sign the code of conduct.

This code will be strictly enforced throughout the year, both at practice and at meets. If any of the rules are

broken, the swimmer will be suspended at the time of infraction. The swimmer will then be assigned a date for a

hearing with the Head Coach and his/her parents. At that point, disciplinary action will be taken.

IMPLEMENTATION

A. All team members are apprised in writing of this policy. Signature of this document constitutes unconditional

agreement to comply with the Code-of-Conduct of TRITON SWIMMING.

B. Failure to comply with the Code-of-Conduct as set forth in this document for TRITON SWIMMING may result

in disciplinary action.

C. Such discipline may include but not be limited to:

Dismissal from the Team and immediate return home.

Disqualification from one or more events or all events of competition.

Disqualification from future TRITON SWIMMING competitions.

Any Appeal taken from any disciplinary action shall be heard by the TRITON SWIMMING Coaching Staff.
