Data Analysis: (15 pts)
This would be a great place for graphs, or pictures of plants at end of project, or some kind of data crunching of growth
and germination rates compared to class data. There should be some discussion as well as visual images.
Conclusion: ( 25 pts)
This section should wrap up the whole project from start to finish – what was done, how did it prove or disprove your
hypothesis, were there procedural issues, surprises, signification changes to the plants that were not anticipated. This is
also the time to refer back to how your results prove or disprove what you read in your research, “how do your results
compare to other projects of similar testing” by other scientists in the field (no I do not mean your classmates). It might
mean a bit more research to help wrap up your conclusions of why things worked the way they did. This is also the time
to put this information in context to the real world – what parts were key factors here that have improved your
understanding of the plant world, and how is it useful.
Paper format: (10 pts)
Typed, 1.5 spacing, 12 pt font, regular or narrow margins
Sources must be cited at the end, and noted in the text appropriately. For this kind of paper and project less than 3
sources is not likely, nor accountable. You learned a lot, and need to find out how to support all that you learned with
the research.
Raw data sheets need to be included in some manner, but can be referred to and put at the end as an appendix.
