Dear Potential Sponsor/Donator,

The Central Maryland Shockers is an AAU registered, basketball, and academic organization

based out of Columbia, Maryland- Howard County that provides year-round basketball instruction

and experience for children between the ages of 8-18. We are committed to the development and

empowerment of future leaders/athletes by using basketball as a tool to improve health and

fitness, excel in academia, develop life skills and values, and to become well-rounded, productive

citizens in society. The most important part we want to provide for our kids is FUN!!!

As in all non-profit youth sports programs, fund raising has become necessary to offset the cost of

maintaining a quality program. Since the start of our program 10 months ago, we have raised

money through car washes, raffles, and various donations from family and friends. We are

contacting you to ask if you would be willing to make a monetary donation that will directly

contribute to and offset the cost of the program’s 40+ youth members. Our primary revenue source

is registration fees paid by families and donations received from generous individuals and

businesses. Since these funds do not cover all of the operating expenses, families often must raise

their own funds to pay for equipment, training fees, field rentals, travel, and tournament entry fees.

The average cost per player per year to participate is between $600-$750, particularly difficult for

families with more than one player and/or modest means.

In order to continue to make this rewarding experience a reality for our kids we are reaching out

directly to area businesses, families, and friends, and offering the opportunity to help by becoming

a team sponsor! In return for your support, you will be recognized on our webpage and 100% of

the proceeds from your donation will go directly to The Central Maryland Shockers and provide

equipment, uniforms, league fees, player liability insurance, facility usage and overall operations.
