a.
The Client understands that if, at any step in the proceeding, the client is
unsuccessful, the opposing party may seek an Order that the Client pay for his
or her costs.
b.
In light of the foregoing, the Client acknowledges that despite being in receipt
of Legal Aid they could be subject to cost consequences if they are
unsuccessful at any step in the litigation.
Discharge of Lawyer
11.
: The Client may discharge the Lawyer at any time
by written notice effective when received by the Lawyer. Unless specifically agreed
by the Lawyer and the Client, the Lawyer will provide no further services after
receipt of the notice.
Notwithstanding the discharge, the Client will have to make that request in writing to
the LAO Area Office. The Area Director will only grant a change of solicitor in very
unusual and extreme circumstances. Thus, the Client acknowledges that LAO may not
grant the client’s request to transfer his or her Certificate to another lawyer and may
have to continue with the litigation as a self-represented party.
