his wife Sophie’s parents, who were no longer
able to manage their home and small farm by

themselves. Initially, his in-laws wanted to sell

the farm and move to Pine City, Texas, to be
with the Elwells. But John and Sophie wanted
to help and took a chance, moved to Oak Grove,

and began applying for jobs in the area. Both

families are happy with the results of the decision,
which allowed them to stay on their farm by
