David R. 04/15/2013 - Misleading Promises

I booked a room advertised as an ocean view, but it certainly wasn’t! It was facing the opposite direction!

I can’t say I was very happy about it. When I complained, they told me I couldn’t get a refund for

the price difference between a room with and without a view because the trip is charged as a package

deal! But, other than that, it was clean and the staff were friendly, nothing special. Can’t say I’d go back

though.

My family and I went to Punta Senca for a week and it was fine. But just that—fine. I really was

expecting something a little more special. For example, I was shocked to find the different restaurant

options weren’t all open every night of the week. Most nights, only two or three of the restaurants were

open. There’s some sort of alternating schedule during most of the week. All five options are available

only on Friday and Saturday nights. When you’re on vacation, weekends are nothing special—every day

is special! Tourists want “weekend” specials every day at a resort! Then, the variety only really applied

during dinner. Pathetic! (D) Finally, I really was unimpressed by the food. The seafood restaurant in

particular was disappointing.
