A. All male U.S. citizens and male immigrant aliens residing in the U.S. and its territories must

register within 30 days of their 18
birthday. This registration is the process by which the U.S.
government collects names and addresses of men age 18 through 26 to use in case a national
emergency requires rapid expansion of the Armed Forces. If you have registered, please provide:
i. The date registered
ii. The Selective Service Number
B. If you have not registered and you are now 26 years old or older, please be prepared to explain
why you did not register. Not registering is a felony.
C. If you did not register and are still under 26 years of age, you must register before you apply for
naturalization.

To have your interview in your native language, you must meet the ONE following requirements:
A. Over 50 years of age and have lived in the U.S. as a lawful permanent resident at least
20 years, OR
B. Over 55 years of age and have lived in the U.S. as a lawful permanent resident at least
15 years, OR
C. If you are 65 years of age and have lived in the U.S. as a lawful permanent resident at least 20
years, you can have your interview in your native language AND you can take simpler version of
the civics test also in your native language.
