What is the overall purpose and objective of this position (why does the position exist)?
The assistant coach exists to help develop, maintain, and administer the Men's Soccer
program. The assistant coach will assist the head coach in running practices and coaching
during the competitions, assist in recruiting quality individuals who fit the mission and vision of
Providence, and help individual athletes in academics and spiritual growth.
List in order of importance the major responsibilities of the job and estimate the
percentage of time spent on each responsibility (the main function of the job may or may
not be the one where the most time is spent).

Train athletes to compete at the collegiate level.

Plan and personally conduct training and sport specific practices for
athletes during the official season
Motivate students to improve their performance both on and off
season

Track academic progress of all Men's and Women's soccer
athletes
Work closely with Head Coach to oversee spiritual formation and
development of athletes.
Academic Study Hall and Spiritual Discipleship meetings

Recruitment

Assist with the recruitment of male student athletes
Be a phone warrior and make connections with Junior colleges
High Schools, and Clubs in Southern California and throughout
the U.S.
Assist in Summer Camps and College Id Camps, and community
clinics involved with soccer.
