• A bank is a safer place to store money.
• If you open a bank account, you can store money in the bank and easily access it.
• Model features of using banks including:
- Filling out deposit and withdrawal slips
• Understand the benefits of saving.
Activity:
In this activity, students learn about currency and using money by creating their own class currency and
banking system.
A. Before the currency is created, teachers lead a class discussion about the essential features of a currency
based on Activity 7’s homework exercise. They discuss and select the properties the class wants their
currency to have.
