Infractions and Consequences

Violations of any regulations will be handled in accordance with Music Department policy and school district

disciplinary procedure. This may include removal from SCAHS music groups for the remainder of the year,

and if an underclass student, ineligibility to join any other music organization while enrolled at State High.

Major Infraction – Smoking, possession of alcohol, non-prescription drugs or a weapon, theft, other

violations of the law, repeated minor infractions

Consequences – Parent or guardian will come to pick up student and return home at parent’s

expense at first violation; appear before the director & principal to explain actions; submit letter of apology;

removal from SCAHS music groups for the remainder of the year with impact on letter grade for class;

participation in performance groups next year may be permitted but no travel will be allowed (i.e. adjudication

trip, etc.).

Minor infraction – Out of room after curfew, disrespect for adult authority

Consequences – Warning, room assignment changes, call to parents, letter of apology to

chaperones/directors, director follow up.
