Student Activity Code of Conduct

According to the Deer Creek Middle School student policy on discipline, examples of
conduct which violate expectations are defined, but not limited to…
*Disruptive Behavior- Behaving in a manner which disrupts or interferes with
educational activities (Handbook, Page 10)
*Disrespect- Responding in a rude and or impertinent manner (Handbook, Page 11)
(Level 1 through Level 5) depending on severity of infraction.
Students are expected to conduct themselves in a manner which follows the behavior
code for Deer Creek Middle School. Participation in extracurricular activities is only
permissible if the student is academically eligible, and if the student acts in a way which
is in accordance with the expectations of conduct.
Varsity is a competitive squad and therefore the coach plays those players who he/she
feels are the strongest at that time. Issues dealing with playing time will not be discussed
on the varsity squad.
The JV focus is to develop the skills of all athletes so that those players can challenge
varsity positions in the future. Equal playing time is a focus on JV. If maximum playing
time is the most important aspect for your child, then you may elect to be on the JV
squad.
Disrespecting a coach

Disrespecting a coach will cause the player loss of playing time

Loss of playing time and the player will be placed on an individual behavior contract.
Missing Practice
If a player misses a practice for any reason the player may lose his/her starting position
and/or loss of playing time.
