Complete job description
The process engineer is accountable for the engineering design of UOP's gas processing technologies.
The engineering design work consists of the use of proprietary models and simulations to develop
detailed hydraulic analyses and sizing of major equipment, including vessels and piping.
Accountabilities:
Run process simulation tools for design and alternate cases
Size piping and control valves and perform hydraulics
Develop project specifications including all major equipment
Perform the basic engineering design including Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's) for customer
projects
Contribute and participate in customer meetings as assigned and agreed with the Project Manager
Apply current design practices and tools for completion of assigned tasks
Be familiar with the work process and quality policy and apply as appropriate to each project
Document all calculations and work processes in a clear, concise format
Work with equipment vendors on specifications and procurement of equipment
Adapt UOP design standards and procedures to meet project-specific requirements on assigned design
tasks
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, or equivalent, is required
Minimum 10 plus years operations and/or design engineering experience in the refining or petrochemical
or gas industry are required
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with Gas Plant design highly desired
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills
Ability to function well within a team based work environment
The ability to complete moderately complex to complex assignments is needed
Capable of applying a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures
Ability to independently carry out varied assignments that may require modification of standard
procedures
Capable of working under limited to minimal supervision. Technical guidance is available for unusual or
more complex problems.
