to find out when your property tax refund check will be mailed to
you, be prepared to give your Social Security number (or your
spouse’s, whichever is listed first on your return).
Do not call to check on your refund status until after August 15. If
you filed your Form M1PR after June 15, wait at least 60 days before
calling to check on your refund.
Free tax help to seniors, people with low incomes or disabili-
ties, and non-English speakers. To find a volunteer tax help site
in your zip code area, call 651-297-3724 or 1-800-657-3989. Tax
help is available only from February 1st through April 15th.
Information in alternative formats for the visually impaired. If
you need our tax information in formats such as large print or
cassette tape, give us a call.
Assistance in 140 languages and dialects through AT&T’s
Language Line. Just call our regular phone number, and we’ll get the
right interpreter to help you with your tax questions.
When will you get your refund?
If we receive your properly completed return and all attachments are
correct and complete, you can expect your refund by:
mid-August if you are a renter or mobile home owner and you file
by June 15, or
the end of September if you are a homeowner and you file by
August 2.
If you are a renter or mobile home owner and filed after June 15 or a
homeowner and filed after August 2, you will receive your refund
within 60 days after you filed.
If your return is incomplete or necessary information is not attached,
your refund will be delayed or your return will be sent back to you.
It is very important that you notify the Department of Revenue if you
move from the address given on your Form M1PR before you receive
your refund. If your refund check is not cashed within two years from
the date it was issued, you may lose your right to the refund.
