The following documents must be submitted along with your application for an “ABC” license:
1.
A letter of authorization from the true and actual owner or designated agent of the property upon which
the event is to take place, giving permission to sell alcoholic beverages.
2.
A completed FBI Stipulation Form LII-ABC-5, which must be notarized.
3.
A copy of the Temporary Street/Alley Closing Permit, if applicable.
When submitting an application for an ABC license, the applicant or designee to manage the event must have a
completed criminal history report (PD-70). This report can be obtained from the Metropolitan Police Department
located at 300 Indiana Avenue, N.W. #3055. There is a five dollar ($5.00) charge. Finally, upon submission of the
required application/documents, The applicant must submit a Certified Check, Cashier’s Check or Money Order,
payable to the D.C. Treasurer in the amount of $100.00 per event for a class “F” license, or $200.00 per event
for a class “G” license.
CORPORATION REGISTRATION
If a corporation intends to sponsor an event within the District of Columbia, it must first register with the Corpo-
rations Division, Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs. Ten (10) working days are required to grant a
corporation authority to operate.
TAX REGISTRATION
New business and individuals such as vendors and solicitors must register for D.C. Sales Tax obligations. In
cooperation with the Office of Tax and Revenue, the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs provides
registration services. This service is located at 941 North Capitol Street., N.E. 1 st floor #1100. For additional

STREET CLOSING
Sponsors of events scheduled to be held in public streets or alleyways by private persons and organizations or
activities of a recreational, educational, civic or charitable nature must file an application for a temporary Street/
Alley closing. Contact the Special Events Coordinator, Office of Emergency Preparedness, 2000 14 th Street,
