Letter to Family

Dear Family,

I would like you to do a project with your child. First, find solid shapes around

the house, such as small empty boxes and cans, that you do not need

anymore. Make sure there is nothing sharp on the shapes that could hurt

someone. Then build something with your child using the shapes and glue. You

and your child might want to put the shapes together in an interesting way or

make something, such as a model car, out of the shapes.

In school, the children will look at each other’s constructions. They will talk

about the different shapes they see in each one.
