Tips for Writing a College Application

● Do your homework. Find out about the colleges you

are applying to. What are their strengths? What are

they best known for?

● Explain why you want to attend this particular

college. What attracted you to it? Try to be specific.

● Highlight your academic excellence. Make sure you

talk about the special qualities you have to offer.

● Feel free to share the unique benefits you received

and qualities you possess because of homeschooling

● Don’t forget to mention any special awards you have

received, especially if they relate to your chosen field

of study.

● Check, double check and even triple check your

spelling and grammar. It would also be a good idea

to have 23 other people proofread your letter before

you send it.
