DESCRIPTION:
Blue Quills First Nations College is seeking a Program Coordinator for their Diploma of Social
Work program. The position will commence January 14, 2013 and will be mentored by the
current Team Lead and senior social work staff at the College.
The responsibilities of the Coordinator include but are not limited to:
The Social Work Diploma program is the entry credential for social work practice in Alberta;
graduates are eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers.
The successful applicant will be able to teach a broad range of social work courses, engage
and counsel students in their learning journeys, and have an interest in engaging in research.
Commitment to adult learning principles, a passion for teaching, and a willingness to engage
in service to the program, College and community are required.
Since 1975 Blue Quills First Nations College has been offering adult education relevant to
the needs of the people and communities they serve. The College is owned and operated by
seven First Nations communities and has a diverse student population of all cultures.

Qualifications:
Must have an MSW, significant social work experience and be eligible for registration with
the Alberta College of Social Workers.
Extensive understanding and commitment for issues affecting Indigenous peoples will be a
priority for the successful candidate.
Strong organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to speak an Indigenous language is an asset but not required.
