ELEVATOR PITCH

At the Syracuse University YES Conference, you will have an opportunity to present an

idea for a business that you plan on opening or have already started. You will have 3

minutes to present your idea. Cash prizes are being awarded to the best presentations

and ideas. Use the outline shown below to prepare your pitch:

Introduce yourself and open your presentation with a “hook”

Open your pitch by getting the Investor's attention with a "hook." A statement or question

that piques their interest to want to hear more.

Briefly describe what it is you sell. Do not go into excruciating detail.

Who is your market?

Briefly discuss who you are selling the product or service to. What industry is it? How large of

a market do they represent?

IV.

What problem does your product or service solve?

What is your revenue model?

More simply, how do you expect to make money?

VI.

What sets you apart from the competition? How is your product/service unique?

VII.

Who is your competition?

Don't have any? Think again. Briefly discuss who they are and what they have accomplished.

Successful competition is an advantage-they are proof your business model and/or concept

work.
