7. EMPLOYEE’S DUTIES
The Employee’s duties are described in the attached Duty and Accountability Statement and
Position Description to be carried out as directed by the Employer
8. TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT
This contract may be terminated by either party by giving the other party one hour's notice in
writing.
9. LEAVE
(a)
The Employee is not eligible for annual leave, paid sick leave or paid
bereavement/compassionate leave because the casual loading compensates the Employee
for these entitlements.
(b)
The Employee is entitled to two days unpaid compassionate leave per occasion for the
purpose of attending the funeral of a member of the Employee’s immediate family or a
member of the Employee’s household or for spending time with a member of the
Employee’s immediate family or a member of the Employee’s household who has a
personal injury or illness which poses a serious threat to his or her life.

Minimum Conditions of Employment laws provide for paid bereavement leave for casual
employees]
10.CARER’S LEAVE
The Employee is entitled to 2 days unpaid carer’s leave for each occasion when a member of the
Employee’s immediate family or household requires care or support because of illness or injury
or an unexpected emergency.
11. PARENTAL LEAVE
The Employee is entitled to parental leave in accordance with Division 5 of Part 2-2 of the Fair
Work Act 2009.
12. LONG SERVICE LEAVE
The Employee is entitled to long service leave as provided for in the National Employment
Standards or state legislation.
13. COMMUNITY SERVICE LEAVE
(a)
The Employee is entitled to unpaid community service leave to attend jury service or to
attend a voluntary emergency management activity as provided for in the National
Employment Standards. [check relevant award for additional requirements for jury
service leave]
(b)
The Employee must provide evidence of the need for the leave if required to do so by the
Employer.
