Below is an overview of the curriculum which P7 will cover this session. Please be advised that this is a broad
overview which may be altered and adapted to meet the needs of the individual pupils as required.

Performance and presentations – e.g. Power point presentations, Class
Expressive Arts
Assembly, valedictory service, individual presentations, within class (personal
talks).
Art & Design – e.g. drawing/painting WW2 artefacts & utensils to develop
pencil/brush control. Studying the work of Degas in terms of colour, tone,
shape & form. Studying the work of puppeteers, creating 3D puppets.
Dance – Borders Dance Pack, Social Dance.
Drama – e.g. Drama Pack lessons focussing on developing movement and
language skills. Themes lessons based on WW2 evacuation.
Music – e.g. Borders Music Pack – p7, Music Express Programme focussing
in development of skills in exploring lyrics and melody, rhythm & pulse,
performing together and exploring musical processes.
Mental and emotion wellbeing – e.g. expressing & managing feelings and
Health & Wellbeing
reactions in relation to others.
Social wellbeing – e.g. understanding/respecting my rights & those of others.
Recognition of the individual abilities and needs of myself and others.
Physical wellbeing – e.g. increased awareness of how to keep myself safe in a
range of emergency situations.
Planning for choices & changes – e.g. activities to enable children to identify
their achievements & skills and also areas for development life and learning.
Physical education, physical activity & sport – e.g. practise, consolidate and
refine levels of fitness and performance through gymnastics, games, dance &
athletics (twice per week).
Food & Health – „Eat well to do well Programme of Work‟ Step 6, Lessons 1-
4.
Substance misuse – e.g. identifying the risks & impact associated with the use
and misuse of substances.
Relationships, sexual health & parenthood – e.g. physical & emotional
changes during puberty. Different kinds of relationships and friendships.
Christianity – e.g. Notable Christians.
Religious & Moral
World Religions – e.g. Purim Shavuot, Synagogue & Eil mul Adha Hajj.
Education
Development of belief and values – e.g. Lent, Holy Week & Easter.
