Consequences
* Consequences will vary depending on the severity of the behavior. The following is only a general guideline
of possible consequences in the classroom and may be adjusted to meet the individual needs of students.
* A student will be moved to the next step if he or she refuses to comply.
Step 1: * I will give the “Look” or stand next to student.
Step 2: * I will give a verbal warning to student and say “Focus.”
* Student moves clip to Slow Down on our class clip chart.
Step 3: * I will ask the student to move to another location in the classroom.
* Student moves clip to Think About It on our class clip chart.
* Student will give me a sign when they are ready to rejoin the group.
Step 4: * I will ask the student to tell me what behavior needs to change.
* Student moves clip to Teacher’s Choice.

Grade “Think Time”
* Student goes to a Time Out desk and completes a 1
Processing Sheet.
* Student loses part or all of recess. I will reteach behavior.
Step 5: * Principal or school counselor is contacted and student is removed from
classroom.
* Student loses part or all of recess. I will reteach behavior.
* Parents will be contacted.

Our classroom rules will be reinforced continuously throughout the day. When the entire class is displaying
appropriate behavior, they will earn a spot for our Harry the Dirty Dog poster. When Harry has a specific
number of spots, the class will receive a special class reward.
Students who keep their clothespin on Ready to Learn or higher on our clip chart will be recognized at the end
of each month in our classroom.

that lead to positive character. Your support is greatly appreciated.
