Monthly Consumer Price Index
September – The unadjusted U.S. CPI rose 0.5 percent in September 2017 compared to the
August 2017 level, and rose 2.2 percent compared to September 2016. The Midwest CPI
rose 0.3 percent compared to the August 2017 level. The Midwest CPI began the first nine
months of 2017 noticeably higher than the 2016 levels, suggesting that prices have risen in
the Midwest.
