General Description:
Certified design professional who collaborates with other Interior and Architectural Designers
to develop design solutions using conventional design principles and practice and administers the contract
through construction.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, NCIDQ Certification (preferred)
5-10 years experience with certification
Duties and Responsibilities:
Communicate directly with senior-level interior designers and/or project managers on small to mid-sized projects or
works as a specialist on large scale project types managed by a senior level designer
Perform project programming and analysis
Develop schematic and design development solutions for small to mid-sized project types
Prepare sheet and graphic documentation for construction
Select interior building products and finishes
Manages and presents visual aids such as finish boards and PowerPoint presentations
Perform consultant coordination on small to mid-sized project types
Perform construction administration procedures, including project documentation, on small to mid-sized project type
Creates interior design specifications
Performs routine checking and/or verification tasks for quality control
Develops and maintains project FF&E budgets for small to mid-sized project types
Meet project deadlines
Mentors lower-level interior designers
Advanced understanding of interior design and space planning principles and applies established interior design
standards in daily work performance
Proficient knowledge of accessibility and life safety codes
Broad knowledge base of interior finish and product application
Strong verbal, written and graphic communication skills
Ability to accept constructive criticism and make adjustments in day to day work practice
Ability to work effectively on a team
Understanding of sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines
Basic understanding of millwork packages
