Full-time Police Officer

Town of Merrimack

The Town of Merrimack Police Department is seeking to fill Full-time Police Officer

positions.

The eligibility process includes, but is not limited to, a written examination, physical

agility exam, and an oral board interview. Applicants who are current full time police

officers certified in the State of New Hampshire will be exempt from the written exam

portion of the eligibility process only. Applicants will be expected to meet the entry-level

requirements for physical fitness held by the NH Police Standards and Training Council.

Candidate(s) moving forward to fill the opening would be subject to an interview with the

Chief prior to a conditional offer. Post conditional offer, candidates would be required to

pass a thorough background investigation, psychological exam, and polygraph.

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

Current full or part-time police officers employed in the State of NH must be certified by

the NH Police Standards and Training Council. Candidates not certified must pass the

minimum written, oral and physical agility testing.

The current starting hourly wage is $23.64, with a comprehensive benefits package

including participation in the New Hampshire Retirement System.
