GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

RECORDS of gross receipts from the sale of alcoholic liquor must be kept separate from the records of other retail sales.

These records shall be available for inspection by the Secretary of Revenue or his/her duly authorized agents or employees

at all reasonable times.

Free Samples: Liquor drink tax must be paid on the acquisition cost of the alcoholic liquor used in serving free samples.

TAX RETURNS will be mailed monthly by the Kansas Department of Revenue and will indicate the reporting period and the

due date of the return. Failure to receive a return does not relieve you or your business of the responsibility to file returns

timely and pay any tax due. If missing a return, you can download the form at:

PENALTY AND INTEREST are due if the tax due is not paid by the due date. If paying late, enter the amount of penalty

and interest due. Information regarding the current and/or prior penalty and interest rates can be obtained from our web

IMPORTANT: Make a copy of the return for your files. All remittances should be made payable to KANSAS LIQUOR
