JOB DESCRIPTION:
Key performance areas include but are not limited to:
Developing and implementing of a communication and media relations strategy
Establishing and maintaining of good relations with all media
On-time production of corporate publications, internally and externally
Enhancing of VUT image e.g. website content, media coverage etc
Provide support to various departments in the University
Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of the Corporate Communications Department
Application Criteria:
Qualification/Experience:
M+4/Honours Degree, B Tech (NQF level 8) in Communications, Journalism or Media Studies
5 years’ experience in a communication, media relations or public relations environment
3 years’ management experience in communication or media relations environment
Experience in development and implementation of a media strategy
Budget experience
Skills:
Excellent communication skills (writing, editing and public speaking);
Extensive experience in writing and production of promotional material
Excellent English business writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
Good inter-personal and time-management skills;
Computer literacy;
Have the initiative and the motivation to work without extensive supervision.
