(Special Education)

Anser Public Charter will be hiring paraprofessionals that have: an abundance of flexibility and

patience,   a love of children,   an appreciation for the adolescent spirit,   a desire to help

children develop skills and find need -appropriate adaptations to successfully access curriculum

in an inclusive setting, an ability to learn from and share with others as a member of an

energetic team, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the heart of a teacher. 

We are recruiting for a full-time (40 hours per week) paraprofessional position and a part time

(19.5 hours per week) paraprofessional position. The successful full-time candidates will work

primarily with students in grades 7

and 8

. The successful part –time candidate will work

primarily with students in K-6

grades.

Desired skills include but are not limited to the ability to, under the direction of a teacher, support

and manage challenging behaviors, support students in the general education classroom,

modify class work to increase accessibility of content and plan for and implement small group

instruction.

Final schedules will be drawn up when candidates are offered a position.

Requirements: A minimum of two (2) years of post-secondary education is required. Experience

working in special education is preferred but not required. The rewards are huge, nothing beats

helping a child identify what he or she needs to become successfully independent and foster a

lifelong love of learning.
