1JOB OPENING – SUBSTITUTE TEACHER (PART-TIME)
The Marylhurst School is an independent, progressive education community located in historic Oregon City.
Founded in 1972, we serve 200 children in preschool through eighth grade. We embrace the creativity,
questions and risk taking of childhood in a supportive, hands-on environment.
The Marylhurst School seeks pool of qualified substitute teachers for preschool, primary and middle school
classrooms.
REPORTS TO: Head of School
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Our dedication to each child and family means that our substitute teachers need to fit seamlessly into the
classrooms regardless of age or subjects being taught. We are looking for people with experience teaching
preschool as well as people with primary and middle school experience. Our ideal candidates are looking for a
few extra hours of work a week, and would like to become a part of our substitute rotation. A handful of
dedicated substitutes will be selected to work on call for about 10 classrooms. To determine whether our

SKILLS: Interpersonal skills to communicate with school staff interact appropriately with a diverse array of
people.
REQUIREMENTS: Registered with Oregon Background Registry, minimum 2 years teaching experience,
current CPR/First Aid card and Food Handler’s Permit.
COMPENSATION: Salary commensurate with experience.
