Lesson 17: Daily Routines
Scenario:
Darnell really does not like waking up in the morning! He
waits until the last minute to finally roll out of bed. Oh no! He
looks at the clock and realizes that he is late! He rushes to get
ready. Darnell did not lay out his clothes the night before so he
does not know what he should wear. He knows he did not
shower the night before but does not have time to shower now.
He remembers to brush his teeth and put on deodorant. He
quickly grabs breakfast and his backpack and runs out the door.
Because he was rushing, Darnell forgot to take his medicine as
well as a few other things that he was supposed to do. If you
were Darnell, what would you have done differently? What
could help Darnell get up and ready in time in the morning?
Most days we usually do different things throughout that day.
However, there are routines that remain the same from day to
day. This lesson is designed to help you to get ready in the
morning and to prepare for bed at night by using checklists.
Objective: To be able to complete both morning and evening
daily routines through the use of a checklist.
Materials:
• Pencil or pen
• Laminated Morning Routine Checklist
• Laminated Nighttime Routine Checklist
• Dry erase marker
