Lesson 18: Setting an Alarm
Scenario:
Tomorrow is the first day of college for Darnell and Sarah.
Darnell has a morning class that starts at 9 AM. He is used to
having his parents wake him up, but now he is living on his
own. He asks his roommates what he should do and they suggest
he sets an alarm. What time should he set his alarm for? Have
you ever set your own alarm before?
It is extremely important to wake up and have enough time to
complete your morning routines—especially your hygiene
ones—and still get to your scheduled activity on time. Part of
becoming independent is being responsible for you actions.
When you are on time, you show that you are responsible and
take your commitments seriously. It also shows your respect
towards others and their time. Setting alarms can be very helpful
throughout the day. Your alarm can be used to wake you up in
the morning and as a reminder for important times throughout
your day.
Objective: To be able to set an alarm clock to avoid being late.
Materials:
• Digital Alarm Clock (Phones and laptops may also have
built in alarms)
• Daily Routine
