Class Curriculum
We’d like to thank the following individuals and organizations
for making this curriculum project possible.
Acknowledgements: This curriculum was the result of years of effort
and revision on the part of a dedicated group of volunteers at the
Centro Guadalupano/Santa Rosario ESL Program in Minneapolis,
MN. Loie Yeager wrote, revised and updated the curriculum, Donna
Shaheen created all the tests and worksheets and gave suggestions
and advice on the curriculum, and Nima Salehi provided curricular
guidance and assistance. Many volunteers provided helpful feedback
for revisions over the years. Coordinators at Centro Guadalupano
provided much needed support throughout the project.
Photos of individuals and families were taken by Nicki Cornwell
(MLC Learning Center coordinator) and Laura Davies (volunteer
tutor at MLC LC). Students and their families at several MLC
Learning Centers and at Centro Guadalupano generously donated
their time as models. Both of the photographers’ families also
volunteered to be models.
Funding for distribution of this curriculum and for the photography
grant came from the Minnesota Department of Education and the
Minnesota Literacy Council.
