Place students pumpkins (cut out) on a piece of tag board with black
construction paper squares below each glyph asking “who am I”. The
answer is revealed under the black construction paper flap.
Adaptations: Provide a more detailed legend.
Ex:
Triangle Nose
Boy
Circle Nose
Girl
Extensions: Teachers can use the glyphs to generate some data analysis questions such
as “how many students in our class have the favorite color blue?”. Students use the
glyph key to interpret the class display and they can use a tally sheet or bar graph to
present specific results.
