32ENTERTAINMENT AND RELATED ACTIVITIES
As an event organizer, you must be certain that all event related activities comply with local noise abatement laws (75
decibels for City Parks). Please be aware that loud and unreasonable noise is a violation of Boise City Code. A police
officer who determines that the level of noise from your event is offensive to others may require you to lower or
discontinue the noise. Also, the police may order musical entertainment to end if it has the potential to incite dangerous
behavior.
Banners, pennants, flags, signs, streamers, inflatable displays and similar devices are also regulated by local ordinance.
You may need to submit a sign plan to Boise City Planning and Development Services Department identifying any
route/course markings, all banners and signs that will be displayed, all parking signs, and the set-up/removal plan for the
signs and banners. The number and location of these items must be included in your site plan and are subject to approval
by the Special Events Coordination Committee. In certain areas, under certain conditions, these items are prohibited.
Please be aware that you may need to discuss your load-in, load-out schedule for all vendors, equipment, etc.
