PROJECT MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR
2.4
Financial management
The incumbent will:
effectively monitor and coordinate project expenditure and associated budgets
periodically prepare detailed financial reports on project or service performance inclusive
of expenditure analysis and future projections against available budget
administer project financials in accordance with specified procedures and policies
identify and exploit opportunities for improved financial benefit or operational efficiencies
through such activities as collaborative procurement , shared services, panel contracts or
alternate service delivery structures.

Records and information
The incumbent will:
provide reports on technical matters and project activities, including recommendations,
proposals and reports to management and Council
ensure that records are created which will adequately document the business activities in
which they take part, and that the records created and received are captured into
appropriate and authorised recordkeeping systems in accordance with Councils records
management policies.
monitor and report on the effectiveness of the adopted policies, strategies relating to
tendering and contract management
provide regular reports on activities and the achievements of objectives, actions and
performance measures (financial and non-financial) to the Manager Technical Services or
Director Operations
provide input into policy development and review.
2.6
Leadership
The incumbent will:
provide expert assistance and guidance to various departments and staff throughout the
organisation with respect to best practice contract and project management principals and
processes
monitor, analyse and improve Councils contract and project management practices
provide professional guidance, expertise and support to various project stakeholders,
steering committees or community groups so as to and achieve project or service delivery
objectives.
2.7
Professional development
The incumbent will:
attend appropriate peer networking events to enhance knowledge and information in
relation to the position
ensure that current and accurate levels of professional knowledge are maintained.
