STUDENT CONDUCT
School Dress Code Policy & Identification Cards (IDs)
Irvington High School’s students are required to dress in approved uniform clothing and will not be
permitted in class improperly dressed (out of dress code). Students are expected to remain in proper
dress code throughout the day and will not be allowed to store school dress attire in lockers, book bags,
etc. Students are required to wear their school ID at all times. Non-compliance of the dress code may
prohibit entry to class.
Shirts:
● Polo-style shirts: Solid Navy, White, (must be in accordance with vendor style)
● Sleeveless shirts and t-shirts are NOT permitted
● The only acceptable logo on a polo shirt is the school logo
● Button down shirts
● White or navy blue
Pants:
● Navy or Khaki (beige)
● Denim material, jeans, sweat pants, “leggings”, “skinny pants”, and cargos (side pockets) are
NOT permitted
● Shorts, skirts, skorts, and jumpers may not be shorter than two inches above the knee. Clothing
must be worn at the natural waste line.
Coats/Sweaters:
● All long-sleeve solid colored navy or white crewneck, V-neck, cardigan sweaters, or fleece must
be worn with a polo shirt.
● NO hooded apparel will be worn in the building.
● Outer garments (coats and jackets) must be stored in the student’s locker and may not be carried in
school.
Footwear:
● Shoes must be securely fastened. Clogs, flip-flops, and bedroom slippers are NOT permitted
Headwear:
● Students may not wear/carry hats, hoods, sweatbands, bandannas, scarves or sunglasses while in the
school building, they are to be stored in the student’s locker.
